Ticket Cancellation and Refund Policy

How ticket cancellations, transfers, refunds and event changes are managed for CAQA Events conferences, summits and professional events.

About this policy

This policy explains how refunds, cancellations, replacements, credits and remedies are managed for CAQA Events. Nothing in this policy limits rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law. Refunds and remedies depend on the type of product or service purchased, the reason for the request, whether the product or service has been accessed or delivered, and whether a major or minor problem exists. CAQA Events is part of CAQA Groups and a Career Calling International initiative, and this policy applies to tickets and registrations for conferences, summits, forums, workshops, awards nights and online events that we deliver.

How ticketing and payment work

No payments are processed directly through this website. Tickets and paid registrations for our events are purchased through the dedicated registration platform named on the relevant event page or by invoice issued by Career Calling International Pty Ltd. The price, inclusions and any event-specific cancellation terms are stated at the point of registration. Where an event page publishes its own cancellation schedule, that schedule applies; otherwise the default positions below apply.

Cancellation by you

If you cancel a paid registration and the event page does not state otherwise, the following default schedule applies, measured from the event start date:

Cancellation requests must be made in writing to info@caqa.com.au and take effect on the day the request is received.

Transfers and substitutions

Substituting a colleague from the same organisation is free at any time before the event starts and is usually the best option for late changes. Transferring a registration to a different event is treated as a cancellation under the schedule above followed by a new booking, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Cancellation, postponement or change by us

If we cancel an event, you may choose a full refund of the ticket price or a full credit towards a future event. If we postpone an event or move it to a new venue or to online delivery, your registration carries over automatically; if the new date, location or format does not suit you, you may request a full refund. A change of individual speakers, sessions or room allocations within an otherwise proceeding event is not a cancellation and does not, of itself, attract a refund. We are not responsible for travel or accommodation costs you incur, and we recommend booking flexible fares and refundable accommodation.

Online events and access problems

For online and hybrid events, if a failure of our delivery platform prevents you from accessing a substantial part of the event, we will offer access to a recording, a place in a repeat session, a credit or a refund, depending on what is reasonable in the circumstances. Problems caused by your own device, network or workplace security settings are not grounds for a refund, although we will try to help you connect.

Free events

Some CAQA Events sessions are free to attend. Free registrations may be cancelled by either party at any time, and no refund obligations arise; we ask that you cancel your place if you cannot attend so it can be offered to someone else.

Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If an event or related service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to remedies that may include a refund, credit or compensation, depending on whether the failure is major or minor. This policy operates alongside, and does not reduce, those statutory rights.

How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used at registration. Refunds are normally processed within 10 business days of approval; where a third-party registration platform was used, its processing times may also apply. Any non-recoverable third-party booking fees are identified at the point of purchase.
